Nevada officials unanimously approved plans for a heart-shaped resort hotel and recreational venue on the far south end of theLas Vegas Strip— and the unusual design is already attracting plenty of attention online.

Planners trimmed the project’s scope to a height of 317 feet and 752hotel rooms, down from the original proposal of 406 feet and 874 rooms, according to industry publication NVBEX.

Renderings show the project — which doesn’t have an official public name yet — centered around a massive, illuminated heart-shaped hotel tower, with a casino, restaurants and retail spacespread across the base of the development.

On a Reddit forum dedicated to Las Vegas, reactions to the proposal were mixed, with many users criticizing or mocking the design.

“It honestly looks so ugly,” one person wrote.

“We just need a diamond, spade and club hotel,” another joked.

A third user wrote, “This design would make a great 3-story wedding chapel, but not a 29-story hotel.”

Others embraced the over-the-top concept.

“I like this better than the guitar,” one commenter wrote, an apparent reference to the guitar-shaped Hard Rock Hotel currently under construction on the Strip and set to replace the Mirage.

“It better bring back heart-shaped tubs and those heart-shaped love beds,” another person quipped.
